Levanto

As we approach the end of summer holidays, shall we resume the hikes? The idea is to explore the so called “Levanto maze”, a complex net of trails that connects the many hamlets in the Levanto inland.

On the previous installment (last autumn) we ventured across the eastern side of town (you might remember Fabio dashing through the Bardellone-S.Bartolomeo-Ridarolo trail faster than Usain Bolt, in order to catch the last train to Rimini); this time we’ll continue by hiking further on, from Ridarolo on to Montale, Dosso and Lavaggiorosso.

Hike takes around 3 hours, has 400 mt of elevation gain and is rated as T/E (easy/medium).

We’ll stumble across water mills, wind mills, quaint portals and, best of all, many fountains, which will spare us from having to carry heavy bottles of water.

Hike is very well described on:

(in both cases, we’ll just do the 2nd part)

We’ll likely get back to Levanto at 4pm, with still plenty of time for swimming and snorkeling. If you’re in no hurry to go back home, you might even want to spend the evening in Levanto, as a nice music festival takes place in the cloister of S.Giacomo ( http://www.festivalamfiteatrof.com/ )
