next hike

Saturday September 10th, 2016:

Riva Trigoso

The hiking group is 6 years old this week! Let’s celebrate the anniversary on Saturday, by finding our way to the emerald sea of Valletta (Moneglia)…beginning from Riva Trigoso.

The trail is brand new and, unless there are unexpected hurdles, should be the shortest path from Riva Trigoso to the secluded beach of Valletta. According to the rumours, the first half will be under the shade of the trees, while the 2nd half (that goes along the emerald-blue Ligurian trail that connects Sestri to Portovenere) features plenty of lookout points, on our way to the sea stacks and turquoise waters of Valletta.

Hike should take 3,5 hours (2,5 hours to Valletta + 1 to Moneglia), has 400 metres of elevation gain and is rated as T/E (easy/medium)… and E/EE (medium/hard) for the swimming part: if you wish to dive into the water, be warned that a little care is required to enter the sea. Also, be sure to bring a mask, so that you may spot sea urchins right away.
